Current Moisturiser : The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day Cream (Review)

The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day Cream

Hello! Everyone,

Hope you are all enjoying the rainy weather lately. What a relief from harsh summer climate. While I'm a rain and monsoon lover, I'm a little disappointed these days because I'm not able to take better pictures for my blog and Instagram, reason? Well, the absence of enough natural light! I can obviously take pictures indoors and brighten them up with some editing tools but then nothing can match up to the quality of photos taken in natural light! I love monsoon season a lot but not being able to take pictures for so long, has left me feeling really annoyed. So I'm just hoping for the weather to clear out soon.

Anyways, now let's talk about this aloe soothing day cream!

The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day Cream

My Take

We all have heard how amazing aloe vera is for skin, so a cream infused with its goodness, and that too from a much loved skincare brand, the body shop, is sure to have our expectations high! This cream is plain white in colour and its texture is soft and gentle while the consistency is neither too thick nor too thin.

My skin type is normal to oily currently, and when I first apply this cream it does make my face look a little shiny but it gets absorbed within seconds and there is absolutely no shine. It keeps my skin moisturised throughout the day, along with keeping it matte! It didn't break me out, although, initially when I first started using this cream, I used to feel a mild tingling sensation on my face. But after two uses, I didn't face any kind of irritation. I also sometimes use it as a night time moisturiser and every time I wake up with my skin feeling super hydrated.

I won't recommend this to people with super oily skin because it will take some time to get fully absorbed, and will make your face appear shiny. I feel it's best suited for people with normal and dry skin. Though, you can also give it a try if you've normal to oily skin like mine. I'm really liking using it as an everyday moisturiser. The scent of this cream isn't overwhelming, In fact, it's really really light. Good for those who don't like heavily scented moisturisers.

The not so good thing about this cream is that it's very very expensive for the quantity you get. I feel if the body shop doesn't intend to cut down the price, they should at least increase the quantity of the product. Otherwise, overall, it's an amazing moisturiser to treat your skin with. Recommended!

  7. Even I dislike rain due to the absence of natural light for clicking photos. This looks good for normal to dry skin but not for oily skin like mine.

  8. While this might not work for my oily complexion, I absolutely love the ingredients in this cream, especially the aloe. I wonder if I could possibly get away with wearing this in the colder, drier months?
