The Body Shop Pinita Colada Body Sorbet Review

The Body Shop Pinita Colada Body Sorbet Review

I picked up the 'try me' pinita colada body butter on a whim while I was inside the body shop store once, looking at their body butter collection, and, I was blown away by the scent on the first sniff! I did not expect that it would be so so refreshing. It's based on the pina colada cocktail and the pineapple and coconut extracts make this whole range smell delicious and mood-lifting. However, I didn't buy the body butter because I didn't need a moisturiser at that time; But the scent left an everlasting impression on my mind and I knew I had to try something from this tropical-scented range.

A few months back when I was placing an order on the body shop's website for their rainforest shine shampoo (another favourite, read me talking about it here and here) I decided to also get pinita colada body butter but to my dismay, it was not available online so I bought the pinita colada body sorbet instead. I've been using it on and off from past few months and today I'll be sharing my thoughts on this lovely smelling product.

My Take

The Body Shop's body sorbet is, essentially, something in between a body lotion and a thick body moisturiser. More inclined towards the lotion-y category. To me, at first glance and touch, the texture feels like that of mousse. And, while rubbing it in between fingers and on the body, the sorbet feels very lightweight and it sinks in quickly on the skin without being greasy or heavy. I love that it gets absorbed quickly.

The sorbet makes skin feel smooth and provides decent hydration to the skin. It's not as thickly moisturising as their body butters, which is why these body sorbets are a perfect companion for your skin in the summers. People with very dry skin will need a richer moisturiser for their body.

And now, coming back to the scent, it's very very refreshing, lingers for about one hour and is definitely a summer fragrance. But I don't see myself disliking it even during colder months and I cannot wait to try other products in the body shop's pinita colada range. Overall I really like it and I will totally recommend this to people with normal to dry skin.

Price: Rs.825/- (200ml)

  8. I have the green tea one and it's not an amazing one except the fragrance. I usually don't like TBS for price and host of chemicals it contains.

    1. I've not tried the green tea one yet, body shop's products usually work out for me but I agree about the chemicals and the insanely high prices of their products :)
